Many of you office fruit fans may well have a sweet tooth which is satisfied by a trip to the fruit at work.
Some tasty grapes from the office fruit basket contain natural sugars which help to stimulate the brain, making you think even quicker, as well as dulling that sweet craving.
This is good news since new research has shown sitting in front of a computer screen can actually make you work up an appetite for chocolate, cakes and biscuits.
Researchers from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark found the mental stress of work appears to trigger a change in blood sugar and hormone levels, making the body believe it has used lots of calories that need replacing.
Dr Jean-Philippe Chaput, one of the scientists, said: “Working on your computer is sedentary and doing nothing increases your weight. But use of them also increases your appetite as well so there is a double whammy in effect.”
Instead of munching away on fatty snacks like chocolate and cakes, maybe you should head to the office fruit box for a break from your computer.
