The majority of treats in the office fruit basket are rich in water, with the clear stuff making up the majority of their content.
Take office fruit apples for example; they're 84 per cent water, while pears from the office fruit delivery are 86 per cent water, according to the Nevo Foundation.
Hollywood dermatologist Dr Howard Murad told the Daily Mail that water from fruit and veg is actually better for you drinking glasses from the tap or a bottle.
"Colourful fruits and vegetables concentrate their water with nutrients – this is the best form of water for you, because it stays in your system long enough for you to put it to good use."
The question is – why should you bother to drink so much water?
According to Dr Murad, when cells are not fully hydrated, they can deteriorate and function less efficiently, which leads to ageing.
In order to make the cell membranes stronger "we have to flood the body with nutrients", this boosts the skin and slows down the ageing effect.
