If you’re feeling a bit stressed out and you want to eat some fruit at work, taking cherries from the office fruit delivery could be just the thing.
Office fruitcherries are a rich source of melatonin, which helps improve sleeping patterns, meaning eating the fruit during the day could help you drop off at bedtime.
Maybe you could combine cherry consumption with some tips from the Sleep Council on how to improve snooze patterns and alleviate stress.
Jessica Alexander, spokesperson for the organisation, said there is no quick fix for sleep deprivation but some methods do seem to work on most people.
She suggested meditation, or even the old-fashioned method of counting sleep as mundane activities "can block out other thoughts".
Visualisation techniques are also popular. Ms Alexander said sleep therapists tend to recommend picturing a nice place or an old routine you liked in the past as they help the mind relax.
If you’re still feeling stressed out, bananas from the office fruit basket contain potassium which helps control blood pressure, helping you feel a bit more balanced even if your mind’s racing through the day’s workload.
