It is important to ensure we all eat an appropriate amount of fruit on a daily basis – and one reporter has suggested a way in which people can make certain the are eating the right amount.
Writing for the Liverpool Echo, Liza Williams explains adults need to enjoy at least five portions of fruit – and vegetables – every day.
However, figuring out how many strawberries, grapes or dried apricots equates to a portion can be a difficult task.
As such, she recommends using your hand as a measurer, suggesting that one portion is roughly the amount of cherries, raspberries or raisins that can be fitted into a palm.
Office fruit baskets could provide people with a way of making sure they can grab hold of a handful of delicious and nutritious food on a regular basis.
Earlier this month, author Michael Pollan told WebMD that people should not eat food with ingredients in it they cannot pronounce as it is unlikely that such additives will be naturally beneficial.
