Eating plums and peaches from the office fruit basket may be even more beneficial than you realised before.
If you take plums from the office fruit delivery they’ll help fight cell damage caused by villain molecules that increase heart disease and cancer risks, while peaches are rich in vitamin C, which helps defend the body from infections.
But, even better news for office fruit lovers is that eating these fruits can help give you a glowing complexion without you risking skin damage by lazing in the sun, a new study has found.
In as little as a month, eating fruit and veg can transform skin colour due to the carotenoids they contain, which are a class of around 600 pigments found in plants.
Leader of the research team, Ian Stephen of Bristol University, said: "We have produced evidence that dietary intake of fruit and vegetables affects skin colour."
People find the natural glow of five-a-day eaters more attractive than those who eat low-carotenoid diets too, according to the research which asked volunteers to evaluate the skin tone of photos men and women.
So, if you’re trying to achieve a healthy glow for the summer, you should eat more office fruit instead of heading for the nearest tanning salon.
