A new exotic super fruit has burst onto the scene and is proving a firm favourite with high end chefs.
The baobab (pronounced bau-bab) has six times as much vitamin C as oranges, twice as much calcium as milk and more magnesium than spinach, according to the Caterersearch blog.
Hailing from Africa, the fruit is off-white in colour and breaks open to reveal a powdery, sherbet-like pulp.
It supposedly tastes like a combination of caramelised pear and grapefruit, although it is thought it is better as an ingredient rather than eaten on its own, meaning it is unlikely to turn up in the office fruit box any time soon.
Anyone seeking a fruit with super nutritional properties which they can easily snack on at work should try a tasty peach, which is high in vitamin C and is great at helping the body fight off pesky infections.
Peaches also contain Beta-caratone which our bodies can transform into vitamin A – which helps improve people’s eyesight. Perfect for office workers chained to a computer all day.
