Snack foods are good for you and should be made available when possible, according to an expert.
Writing for the Manteca Bulletin, Dr Mary Pat Van Wyngarden explains that as long as the munchies are both nutritious and low in calories, they are ideal to eat between meals.
Office fruit baskets could well provide a regular source of such wholesome, healthy fare.
The expert also notes people should not quickly gobble their food down, even if they are really hungry.
She suggests that eating food very quickly does not provide the body with enough time to digest the meal properly and as such they may not gain a feeling of contentment and fullness.
The NHS 5 A DAY campaign recommends people eat a variety of different fruit and vegetables on a daily basis in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, as such foodstuffs are full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
