Dipping into an office fruit basket could be great way to eat little and often – which an expert has asserted can lead to good health.
According to US company 5 Mini Meals, doing this can keep blood glucose and insulin at a normal levels, fight cravings and help people to avoid consuming too much at meal times.
It can also maximise metabolisms, keep energy levels high and ultimately positively affect someone’s lifestyle.
Dietician Norae Ferrera from SF Nutrition clinic, commenting on behalf of the firm, suggested that having a busy life can have an effect on a person’s food choices.
"People are looking for quick solutions that are interesting and healthy," she said. "Being healthy doesn’t have to take all day anymore."
The government’s 5 A Day campaign makes recommendations on fruit and vegetables intake and has asserted it is important to properly understand what constitutes a portion size.
One medium apple, a handful of banana chips and 14 cherries equate to one 80g serving according to their guide.
