An office fruit delivery could help staff avoid overeating, which can be a particular problem at lunchtime meetings, it has been asserted.
Workers aiming to tie up deals and build their contacts list at these types of summits could take their eye off the ball when it comes to what they choose from the menu, Business Day suggested.
It claimed people can find it hard to suppress the urge to eat tasty treats, which the body does not need.
However, the portal pointed out excessive fat intake can lead to cardiovascular disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s.
The website sought the advice of Anne Till, a registered dietician in the US.
She advised: "Eat adequate amounts of fresh produce, such as fruit and vegetables – at least five servings daily, preferably more – which provide a number of antioxidant nutrients."
Her comments follow an article on the Times Herald Record website, which stated eating fruit at work can be as healthy for a person’s wallet as it is for their body.
